Dr. John Vanderzyl
was recently named
one of the "Top
Doctors in America" in
a survey of physicians
who were asked which
doctor they would
recommend for their
families. The focus of
his practice is
preventative medicine
and education. He
enjoys caring for
patients of all ages.
Dr. Vanderzyl is a
native Houstonian who
received his
undergraduate degree
from Texas A&M
University and earned
his medical degree
from the University of
Texas Medical School
in Houston.
He is a member of
numerous professional
organizations and is
very active in the
Texas Medical
Association, having
just completed a 5
year term on the
Council of
Socioeconomics.
Dr. Vanderzyl supports
several charitable
organizations,
including the Ronald
McDonald House, Child
Advocates of Fort Bend
County and the
American Cancer
Society. He is a
parishioner at St.
Laurence Catholic
Church in Sugar Land.
Away from the office,
he likes to spend time
with his family and
enjoys activities
including running,
fishing and golf.
Dr. Henry Mata
has devoted his
practice to disease
prevention, focusing
his efforts on
screening, education
and preventative
medicine for his
patients' overall
well-being. When not
at his office, Dr.
Mata enjoys spending
time with his family,
going to movies and
participating in
outdoor activities
like golf, softball,
basketball and skiing.
He is board
certified in Family
Practice and is
involved with the
American Medical
Association, Texas
Medical Association
and University of
Texas Medical School,
Houston.
He received his
undergraduate degree
from Texas A & M
University and
attended medical
school at the
University of Texas,
Houston with his
residency at Memorial
Hospital Southwest.
